iPad Display Calibration

This article describes the process of iPad calibration with Pico Device and PicoDisplay App:


1.- Prepare your iPad

The following settings prevent the iPad to automatically switch off during calibration or that change the brightness in an undesirable way:

1.1.- Switch Auto-Lock to Never

Go to Settings -> Display & Brightness -> Auto-Lock -> Never

1.2.- Switch Auto-Brightness Off

Go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Display Accommodations -> Auto – Brightness -> Off

2.- Measure your iPad / iPhone

  1. Wait 15 minutes with the screen switched on before to start with PicoDisplay
  2. Select the background luminance you desire during the measurement process. Standard values of:
    • 85 cd/m2 for clinical trials
    • 200 cd/m2 for recommended ISO standard

3.- Send us your calibration file

  1. You should have an email account configured on your iPad for sending the calibration file
  2. You will receive an email with the gammas and brightness you have to insert in your device
